Though he’d signed an exclusive deal with Twitch back in March, Beahm does not have a similar arrangement with YouTube. Sources close to Beahm say that he plans to experiment with other platforms like Facebook Gaming and his own personal website, the Champions Club.
Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm has returned to streaming, this time on YouTube. His first stream goes live tomorrow at 3pm EDT. The controversial streamer was permanently banned from Twitch in late June, for reasons that are still unknown.
DrDisrespect has added a $4.99/Join button to his YouTube channel, went live on Instagram just now, and played a parody news report at the end saying that “DrDisrespect may return to streaming as soon as today” pic.twitter.com/rYLmL3ue6L— Rod Breslau (@Slasher) August 6, 2020
Since then things have been relatively quiet, but at this point a comeback seems all but assured. I don’t believe that this whole affair started as a publicity stunt—Disrepsect’s strange final stream on Twitch seemed to indicate a person in genuine turmoil—but at this point, it seems like it’s going to evolve into one regardless. We’ll see what happens, but I would guess that he’s going to start streaming on Youtube again this evening, or maybe tomorrow if he genuinely wants to keep people on the hook.
It’s a strange story, but I know I’ll be watching the comeback stream. Not to see him play games, but to see in what way, if any, he addresses the ban and the mystery surrounding it. I don’t think he’ll give us an explanation, but I don’t think it will work to just act like nothing happened.
“As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community.”
The popular video game streamer, who was banned on Twitch for unknown reasons, posted an interesting clip to his Instagram page Thursday afternoon. The video suggested a return to streaming as early as Thursday.
Beahm, who streams video games under the persona Doctor Disrespect, is one of the most popular streamers online. But he was permanently banned from Twitch back in June 2020 for reasons that haven’t been disclosed.
