The Atlanta Police Department confirmed that officers found a 30-year-old man who was shot in a vehicle on I-285 near the Benjamin E. Mays Drive overpass after responding to a call about an accident on Saturday night. Police did not confirm the man’s identity.
The department believed the driver was intentionally shot and the department’s homicide investigators are looking into the incident.
Examiner’s office confirmed to NBC News. While no cause of death had been confirmed, TMZ, which first reported the news, cites a police source as saying the MC, whose real name was Rudolph Johnson, was shot while driving. The medical examiner’s office said he was 30, although some reports say he was 27.
Rapper Lil Yachty, who was on the same record label as Johnson, said on Instagram that he was just in the studio that day with him working on a song.
